Due to the uncertain regulatory and enforcement conditions in Mexico, paired with limited demand for Mexico Review Standard (LPO) listings, the OMRI Mexico Products List© will be discontinued on June 1, 2024. 

(January 3, 2024) OMRI (the Organic Materials Review Institute) has passed a major milestone, reaching 10,000 OMRI Listed® products reviewed and verified for organic use.

(September 21, 2023) Due to significant recent and upcoming changes to the Mexico Organic Products Law (LPO) standards, OMRI (the Organic Materials Review Institute) will temporarily pause accepting new applications to review input products under those standards effective September 29, 2023.

(August 9, 2023) Silvia Abel-Caines, Ph.D., of Organic Valley has joined OMRI as a member of the organization’s Board of Directors.

(May 26, 2023) OMRI (Organic Materials Review Institute) has received numerous comments and questions around fruit coatings in the past week.

(June 16, 2022) OMRI (the Organic Materials Review Institute) has appointed Orsi Dézsi as its new Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer. OMRI is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing organic certifiers, growers, manufacturers and suppliers an independent review of products intended for use in certified organic production, handling and processing.

(April 12, 2022) OMRI’s (Organic Materials Review Institute) Board of Directors has named Deputy Director Amy Bradsher as the Acting Executive Director beginning April 8. This appointment allows the Board to complete the planned, thorough search and interview process to identify OMRI’s next Executive Director.

(March 15, 2022) To support the needs of the Spanish-speaking organic agricultural community, OMRI has translated the online PDF version of the OMRI Products List© into Spanish. The downloadable OMRI Products List currently includes more than 9,000 products OMRI Listed for use under USDA National Organic Program standards.
