Review Cost

Question:

How much does the review cost?

There are two components to the review fees: an annual supplier fee and a per product application fee. The sum of these two fees will be the total review fee. Both fees are renewed annually.

Supplier Fee

The supplier fee is based on the applying company's total annual gross sales. Total annual gross sales include sales from all products and services provided or distributed by the applying company, not just the sales of a particular product or product line.  The supplier application fee is paid with the company's first product application and is renewable annually.  Once the initial supplier fee is paid, it is valid for all products submitted for review by that company during the initial year and each year thereafter for as long as the company continues to meet OMRI Renewal requirements and pay its supplier renewal fee.

Effective February 1, 2010, the table below details these fees.

Table of Annual Supplier Fees
Gross Sales for Applying Firm OMRI Review Fee OMRI Renewal Fee
under $1 million $400 $240
under $5 millon $670 $402
under $20 million $1340 $804
over $20 million $2010 $1206
supplier does not wish to disclose $2010 $1206

Product Fee

The per product application fee is based on the type of product to be reviewed. Each individual product must have a unique name and a separate product application fee is paid for each individual product review. If a product undergoes a change in formulation as defined in the OMRI Policy and Standards Manual during the review process, the applicant is required to submit a new application fee and all documentation regarding the change. If there are multiple formulations of a product marketed under different names (ie, multiple formulations of a fertilizer with different nutrient values), each formulation is considered a separate product and would require a separate application and per-product application fee in order to be reviewed for the OMRI Products List.

Effective February 1, 2010, see table below for complete list of product types and fees.
