Review Cost

Please Note: OMRI implemented new fees effective June 17, 2011.

There are two components to the review fees: an annual supplier fee and a per product application fee. The sum of these two fees will be the total review fee. Both fees are renewed annually. An Application Fee Worksheet is included in your application kit that makes it easy to calculate fees for your initial product review. If you have any questions, please contact OMRI.

Supplier Fee

The supplier fee is based on the applying company's total annual gross sales. Total annual gross sales include sales from all products and services provided or distributed by the applying company, not just the sales of a particular product or product line.  The supplier application fee is paid with the company's first product application. The supplier fee is required once per year at the time of renewal.

Table of Annual Supplier Fees
Gross Sales for Applying Firm OMRI Review Fee OMRI Renewal Fee
under $1 million $425 $255
under $5 million $725 $440
under $20 million $1500 $900
over $20 million $2450 $1400
supplier does not wish to disclose $2450 $1400

Product Fee

The per product application fee is based on the type of product to be reviewed. Each individual product must have a unique name and a separate product application fee is paid for each individual product review. If a product undergoes a change in formulation as defined in the OMRI Policy and Standards Manual at §2.9.5 during the review process, the applicant is required to submit a reformulation fee of $215 and all documentation regarding the change. If there are multiple formulations of a product marketed under different names (ie, multiple formulations of a fertilizer with different nutrient values), each formulation is considered a separate product and would require a separate application and per-product application fee in order to be reviewed for the OMRI Products List.
