OMRI is seeking a candidate to serve on its Board of Directors to represent
certifiers for the seat that will open in 2001. For a fifteen-person Board, OMRI's by-laws state there are to be at least four certifier representatives.
OMRI's Board of Directors accomplishes short- and long-term strategic planning and visioning, votes on policy changes and generic materials list changes, does fundraising, brings resources and connections to OMRI, and annually reviews the Executive Director. The Board does not vote on the listing of specific brand name products. Terms are two years long and Board members can serve no more than three consecutive terms.
You can nominate yourself or someone else. The nominee needs to send background information, references, résumé or c.v., other information that could assist in consideration as a Board member, and a cover letter describing why the nominee would like to serve. Nominations must be submitted by Thursday, November 30, 2000.
The Organic Materials Review Institute is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides professional, independent, and transparent review of materials and compatible processes allowed to produce, process, and handle organic food and fiber.
